To all of you who missed/didn't miss me, I'll soon be back online from the wilderness of not having internet at home.
Apart from having a dozen different jobs and money making schemes, I just found myself another two jobs/career paths:

Using my expertise and ethnicity skills to provide live commentary for football matches, for which I get paid in pounds £ (don't ask).

here's the match Japan vs Oman. In the next game I attended, I was physically abused by elderly people barracking for a no name second division team, but we'll be alright.
The other job I found is to be the official photographer of gaijin-san human sculptures in Tokyo.

And, for those of you who remember this picture, you will realise that wherever I go I'm always running away from the coppers.

Following the break up of The Beatles (Tea&Fiction), the Wings (Upapipopapo) have come to town for a gig. I was there for a blink-and-you'd-miss-me last minute appearance.
There were several acts playing that night which I missed out on but I did catch this duo playing. I think they are called Syuon or something. The girl was hilariously shy; she seemed to be apologetic for her whole existence.

Then Jun the man himself stepped on the stage, rocking the 15000 (divided by 1000) crowd with some Nirvana songs.

But the highlight of the night came later that night: after years of failed attempts, I finally managed to sleep the night at a love hotel, not for sexual uses though, we were just wanting a good night of sleep since we were late for the last train.
Unfortunately it wasn't one of those baroque looking ones, it was rather plain.

Quite a few porn channels.

Porn channels on the bath tub as well.

Built-in vibrator and lubricant (unused)

and a bookshelf chock-a-block with American literature cold classics.

random cat picture

random vanity shot

I've also started a series of photos called "Escalator portraits" on my Flickr.

The concept is easy to figure out. |

While I'm not dwindling away my hours with my glamourous lifestyle, wearing La Coste polo shirts with a jumper over my shoulders, drinking kirschwasser from a shell on a yacht parked in the Monte Carlo harbour while watching the Formula 1 live, I also take some photos to keep myself entertained. Here's the latest batch. The following image is symbolic of my new record deal with Philips and my desire that the album after the next one which I'm currently recording (bad advertising I know) to be my seminal one, my Histoire de Melodie Nelson.

( more un-araki-an photos behind this cut )
dedicated to yuliacrystal obviously (and to me_vs_gutenberg again I guess) |

| Digging the musical grave |
[Dec. 6th, 2007|08:33 pm] |
Yesterday, someone found something very funny, embarrassing and nostalgic about myself as a teenage composer. It's the oldest track of mine that still remains preserved. You can find it here:
http://spurensicherung.blogspot.com/2007/04/klng-copyleft-non-profit-free-music.html
(scroll down to KLÄNG # 3 and look for rafs dziminsky, the moniker which evolved into ralf dziminski)
There are a few songs and compositions from 1999 or 1998 that I've lost so this is not my first composition, just the oldest on record. Whiteout is from that era too, I can't precise which one is older though.
Anyway, people were asked to contribute short sonic pieces to this compilation and that's what I came up with. Agatha 2 went on, developed wings and evolved into 8.
Enough about nostalgia for today, because I need to get an energy boost/sugar hit with my freshly bought Steve Irwin's own premium gum tree honey.

[Oct. 19th, 2007|08:24 pm] |
So I was sitting by the fan, trying to relax and not to think about my problems (and the fact that I'll probably have to get a job at McDonald's soon).

A drink helps sometimes.

Dancing with my mini ghetto blaster can help too.

What didn't help was to be caught checking some porn links nicepimmelkarl had sent me a while back.

Yes, I live in the world of lalala-human steps-land/post-apocalyptic THX 1138. |

[Aug. 29th, 2007|10:33 pm] |
Because of Alin's (healthy) obsession with my red wall, it has just released a comeback album and is riding high on the charts.
Whoever said I can't look like a Darlinghurst rocker was wrong. I'm a born-to-be-darlinghurst-rocker.

Here representing the Melbourne Underground Film Festival massive. Respect. Don't forget to visit http://muff.com.au

I was wearing that beret to disguise a disgusting pimple that had erupted on my forehead (I'm sounding like joopy here). In the next two pictures, it has been photoshoped off my face for your pleasure.
These shirts are older purchases but they all cost 5 dollars, just like the ones in the other recent entry.

Barefoot in the room where time has stopped.

It was a win-win situation today.

Good night. |

| Dzima Films reacquires rights to Outfit Of The Day (c) franchise |
[Aug. 24th, 2007|11:10 pm] |
Since the now famous Outfit Of The Day series was my original idea, I thought I might as well reclaim it and keep this tried and true Cleveland St pad tradition going (and not leave my floodlights gathering dust in the wardrobe). It would also continue with the ongoing "man whoring" theme my journal has turned into.

So here I am on a friday night, posting pictures of myself online which I took myself instead of doing things people normally do. Has it come to this... |

| Serenading |
[Aug. 10th, 2007|12:28 am] |
Well, I'm beginning to see the light.
(^ugly nose and bad facial skin)
Just letting all the fan girls know that I'm available for serenades all over the world.

All you need to do is pay for my plane ticket in any class and I'll do my best to learn any song you'd like to hear.

Really. |

| Planet Earth to Dzima, Planet Earth to Dzima! |
[Aug. 8th, 2007|10:18 pm] |
Latest updates from Planet Dzima, to whom it may concern.
1 - I have a very sore back, for various reasons. One of them is because i'm sleeping on a futon past its use-by date by at least two years.
2 - I'm a quitter. I've quit my second job in three months. Hopefully I won't have anymore people quitting me.
3 - My fellow Argentinian chefs at my new job treat us to free dinner every night (I'm only there one day a week though) and it's actually pretty good food, tasty and satisfying.
4 - My mood has been a Love Rollercoaster (the title of that horrible song)
5 - I got another job as a uni professor, but apparently I'm very boring.

(no, this is not true, i'm not a uni teacher yet. i'm more like the perverted teacher in that momus song)
6 - As you can tell by this entry, I'm slowly morphing into the post-modern silenceinspades.
7- Thank you for all the positive messages, I appreciate them. |

| Old and lacking in rest |
[Jul. 27th, 2007|12:05 am] |
After holding a meeting with a new found creative agent (meeting in which we had lots of ideas for photos and concepts for shoots), I went to gig somewhere in my old suburb. I'll repeat, I actually went to a gig. Being the old bookish grandpa that I am, that is an achievement to be celebrated. Of course I took my camera (so that I wouldn't be just passively listening to what was going on and to actually interact with the environment) and my dear earplugsbecause I don't rock as hard anymore).
Here's the first band, whose name I oblivious of.

They actually sounded really really nice when they were playing spacey reverbey riffs but they lost me when their guitars were rocking hard (which was actually 80% of the time). So my proposition to them is to please get rid of those MXR distortion pedals and stick to the Holy Grails reverbs whenever you can.
Here's the second band and I do know their name and I shall give you a link to their website in case you're interested.
These two pics summarise what their show was all about.

A lot of Blood, Sweat & Tears - or it was more like Yells, Sweat & Spits actually.

My comment about their music is... I think she wears nice clothes (and they're no Melt Banana). But I actually had a lot of fun shooting their show, even though the lighting was utter rubbish. Plus they move a lot and in complete darkness that equals photographic nightmare if you're not carrying a nice flash unit.
At a certain point while she was performing, the lead singer girl come up to me and came close to pashing me, which was certainly the highlight of the night. She didn't do it to anyone else there so I'll take it as a compliment... of some kind.
I did come out of the gig all energised, excited and inspired somehow and I thought a rock concert would have never made me feel this way again. I don't know if I'm getting old or if Australian music bores me or both but there's still certainly room for musical excitement in me somewhere. Also, it means that I had two positive, inspiring and uplifting days in a row. It's been a while since this last happened. |
